At QAA, we're proud to offer a wide variety of choices that complement our academic programs and strengthen the skills students need to:

Girls for the Cure Organizing Committee

  • Students organize Breast cancer fundraiser walk in support of the fight against womens’ cancers
  • Committee invites guest speakers to reveal their personal experiences with the disease
  • In September girls from QAA, Trafalgar, Villa Maria, Sacred Heart, The Study and Miss Edgar and Miss Cramps walk to Mount Royal to raise money for cancer research

Drama Club

  • Produces student-run plays

  • Secondary 4 or Secondary 5 student directors choose the play and members of the cast, and direct it

  • Production coordinators stage the entire production and are responsible for sets, lighting, make up, front of house and much more
  • Student directors run 8 workshops to get to know new actors and to determine their dedication and suitability and so that their decisions are not based on a single audition

  • Workshops are open to all students who want to try out acting and have fun. They run from 3:15-4:45 pm, October to November

  • Auditions are held at the end of November

  • Students interested in working behind the scenes meet in January.
